<< < (07/07) Bright Future > >>

Dear Bele,

I'm writing this note on the move. One of my bus rides to town, bodies clanking in the rusty machine.

I'm listening to Adrienne Lenker's latest album "Bright Future". There's a country vibe to it that suddenly takes me seven summers back, in the land of big dreams and hustle culture. I'm on a different bus, riding towards Ketchum - the little ranching town, where I do my second shift that day at the local brewery, wearing my latest thrifted outfit.

I feel a bout of nostalgia creeping in as the gooey blue spreads in the window sill. I'm a 21 y/o girl with dreams of a bright future. The air is thick with fear and possibility. 🍃

In many ways, I'm still that skittish but curious girl, with eyes that want to devour the world in amazement. But the world is big and scares me, so I retreat. I try again the next day. 🫧

It feels free to be "waxing lyrical", as a dear author would say, in epistolary form. No formalities, no academic language, just good ol' chewy words.

This is a trial note, so I'll be brief.

Thank you for this space. For picking me up. I have yet to learn from the way you love life. Luckily, it's contagious. 💌
